Our Cup of Tea
I've decided to change my blog name. I was never quite happy with the one I had, but I had to come up with a name when I started my blog, and I couldn't think of anything better. Now that I've had plenty of time to think, I've come up with a new one. Our Homeschool Adventures described the fact that I see homeschooling as a fun adventure, but it's too plain and too similar to some other titles I've seen. The other night the title "Cup of Tea" popped into my head. After doing a search on google, I did find other blogs with "cup of tea" in the title, but they weren't homeschool-related, and I didn't find one with "OUR Cup of Tea" as a title. The reason for this title is, first of all, the fact that we're living and homeschooling in England, and England is known for their teatime. Since moving here, I have become a hot-tea-with-milk drinker, and this past year I've also become a fan of peppermint tea (without milk of course). Also, I would call homeschooling my "cup of tea"--I LOVE homeschooling my kids! People here ask me all the time how I do it..."How do you homeschool with THREE KIDS?" (as if that's a huge number of kids to have) and "When do you find time for YOURSELF???" and "Wow, I don't know how you do it...I never could!" They have no idea how much fun it is (and simple)! Sure it can be challenging at times, but if you're used to letting others educate your children away from home, you have no concept of what it's like. They assume I do it only because I feel I have to and not necessarily because I WANT to. Okay, so anyway, homeschooling really IS my cup of tea. It's OUR cup of tea, because my kids LOVE it TOO, and my husband is in full-support and helps when he's able. So...this is the "Our Cup of Tea" blog site now. It's not complete, because I have to come up with a new header, and that just doesn't come very easy for me! I will have it finished at some point! Then I'll have to do a new button too! But as no one I know is using my current button, it's not really an urgent issue (haha)!

Love the new title and new header, Debbie! I also have to smile at those "How do you DO it?" questions. People really can't imagine how much fun and satisfaction I experience through HSing--I would SO much rather be exploring learning with my kids than doing almost anything else!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yes, I can't think of much else I'd rather do! Kids grow up so fast anyway...I want to enjoy every moment I have with mine.
